Bill Howe Case Study - Problem

The Client

Bill Howe has served San Diego since 1980, growing from a single plumber into one of the region’s most established full-service home-service providers across plumbing, HVAC, restoration, and 24/7 emergency flood work. The company runs two primary service areas, San Diego and Poway, carries a 4.8-star reputation across thousands of reviews, and has begun extending into the Las Vegas market with trenchless drain and CIPP pipe-lining service. Bill Howe engaged Youtech to grow new-customer volume and, above all, to see clearly where that growth was coming from.

The Challenge

Bill Howe was spending across Google Ads and Local Services Ads but could not confidently tie that spend to booked jobs and revenue. Reporting leaned on clicks, impressions, and form fills, which left the team guessing about which campaigns actually produced paying customers. Attribution broke down between GA4, Google Ads, LSA, and the ServiceTitan CRM, so profitable campaigns were hard to identify and scale, and newer service lines struggled to gain efficient traction. The mandate to Youtech was direct: replace vanity metrics with revenue Bill Howe could act on.

Bill Howe Case Study - Goal

What Youtech Built

Youtech rebuilt the measurement layer first. That meant clean GA4 event tracking, call and form conversion tracking, and an offline-conversion path that feeds booked-job outcomes back into Google Ads so the platform optimizes on real results. ServiceTitan became the closed loop — booked jobs and revenue tied back to the campaign that produced them.

On that foundation, Youtech restructured paid search around how San Diego homeowners actually search: dedicated campaigns by service line (plumbing, HVAC, restoration, drains), a Branded / Non-Branded / Performance Max structure, English and Spanish coverage, and separate treatment for the San Diego and Poway markets. New PPC landing pages built for each core service went live during the build, aligning the ad click with a page designed to convert it.

Bill Howe Case Study - Results

The 30-day result

Once the account was fully ramped and revenue-based tracking was in place, a single 30-day window came through in the numbers that matter to a home-service operator:

$80,000

paid search spend

~$696,000

attributed revenue

8.7x

ROAS

Every dollar Bill Howe put into paid search returned roughly $8.70 in tracked revenue. Because the reporting is anchored to ServiceTitan, that figure reflects booked work, which gives the team a defensible basis to scale the campaigns pulling their weight and pull budget from the ones that aren’t.

The Broader Picture

Paid search is one channel inside a wider engagement, and the surrounding work reinforces the same trajectory:

SEO
Organic search

Organic search rebounded as the account ramped — organic sessions rose 35% month over month and organic conversions rose 68% — while the site claimed page-one positions on high-volume terms including mold remediation services (#1), HVAC service (#3), and water damage restoration (#3).

Web Design
Programmatic

Programmatic (StackAdapt) scaled efficiently on $74,815 in media, with cost per acquisition falling from roughly $190 early in the flight to about $7 as optimization took hold.

Web Design
Market expansion

Market expansion into Las Vegas opened a new revenue line built on Bill Howe’s trenchless CIPP specialization.
